I took my granddaughter Leah to the Barbie Dreamhouse Experience today for her 4th birthday. The Barbie Dreamhouse Experience is located in the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise Florida. First I would like to say we had an awesome time at the Barbie Dreamhouse Experience. It was everything we thought it was going to be. We spent about 3 and 1/2 hours there and I feel it was worth the price of admission. Admission was around $15 with the 20% off coupon that I had from the Sawgrass Mills Mall. It was also an additional $15 for Leah to participate in the make up session and Barbie fashion show.  The look on her face made it well worth the cost. We had checked out the website online before going and Leah was excited just watching the videos on the website. I knew she would love it.

The Barbie Dreamhouse Experience Tour

When we arrived we purchased our tickets then we had about a 5 minute wait until the next tour. Before the tour started we were given a wrist band to scan and to add Leah’s information, Name, age, favorite color and favorite avatar. Once this was completed we all entered an elevator which took us to Barbie’s Kitchen. Each time we went to a different room we took the elevator. We went to the Barbie’s Living Room, Bedroom, Bathroom, Closet, airplane and play area. Every room had interactive activities for the children. In the Kitchen they made cupcakes and also got to make a scrap book. Once we were in the play area the children were given photos of the things they made.

  • In Barbie’s bedroom there was Barbie’s bed, a music box that played music and the ballerina turned around in circles when Leah turned the crank.
  • In the Living room there were puzzles and a piano with a microphone for karaoke.
  • In the bathroom there was a toilet that when you pushed a button a dolphin popped up… Leah liked that a lot.
  • Barbie’s closet was amazing…there was an interactive mirror where the girls got to see themselves dressed up in different outfits from Barbie’s closet. Every time the raised their arm their outfit would change.

Barbie Dreamhouse Experience Fashion Show

Leah really enjoyed getting made up and participating in the fashion show. I told them it was her birthday and they really made a point to make her feel special. During the fashion show she was dressed as a mermaid and she looked so cute.

Here is a video from the fashion show.

The only thing I can say that wasn’t positive about the experience was I felt we were rushed through the rooms a little to fast. The pictures that they took during the fashion show that were part of the $15 package didn’t save and so we didn’t get them. But they had the girls go back and get dressed up again so they could retake the pictures and so the girls got to walk the runway twice. That made up for the first lost pictures. The pictures were retaken so we didn’t walk away empty handed. We have a special picture for a special memory.

All in all we had a wonderful time at the Barbie Dreamhouse Experience. I would recommend the Barbie Dreamhouse Experience to anyone who is a Barbie fan.
