You Only Live Once – Make it Happen
I had a surprise call from my brother Danny the other day. Danny lives in California with his wife Shayne. I don’t get to talk to him very often so its always a nice surprise when he calls me. He called to discuss my latest blog and to give me some constructive feedback. I appreciate the fact that he’s even reading my blogs so I will take this as a positive thing.
We got to talking about the business he runs with Shayne, Wild Compass Photographic Adventure Tours.
Check out the website its awesome!
Shayne is a really great photographer, she teaches those on the tours how to get that really great shot. She also teaches photography at her local Community School.
I am amazed at the photos she has taken and posted on her Wild Compass Photographic Adventure Tour site and also her Myth & Legends site. All photos are for sale.
You Only Live Once – Make it Happen
I told Danny that I want to go on one of his adventure tours to Africa one day.
Of course these tours aren’t cheap and you need to have a really good camera to get the good shots. But Shayne will help you get those shots.
Anyway he said why wait you only live once.
Then he told me a story about a friend who always wanted to go on one of the tours and she always had an excuse. Well she got sick and passed away and never did get to go.
So the lesson in this is if there is something you want to do, then do it. Put your dreams and goals in front of you and work toward it.
Don’t let life pass you by, go on that adventure, go after your dreams.
You only live once–Make it happen!

“C’est la vie,” as they say.
The concept that you present here is critical… yet I feel that many people often choose to stay in a state of survival (“i just gotta pay the bills”) than to attempt to self-actualize and grow into a life that they love to live.
Often people seem stuck in a purgatory of the two by just playing “Follow the leader” and never stepping up to lead.
I don’t understand how I was able to live like that, let alone how people can dedicate 10, 20, 30 years of life always second or third rung like that…
But then again, c’est la vie.
Thanks for your comment Adam, most people don’t go after their dreams. They have a mediocre life and never get to do the things they want. i don’t want to be that person. I am going after my dreams I will go on that trip.
