We have company for a week. My son Allen’s in-laws arrived late Thursday night from Pa. They will be here a week.
Allen has been married for almost 9 years and this is the first time that my daughter-in-law, Candy’s family has been here.
We met them a couple years ago when we traveled to Pa. But they have never come here before.
Candy was so excited the whole week before they got here that I don’t think she slept the whole week.
Allen, Candy and my 2 granddaughters live with my husband and I and our other children Michelle, William and Noelle. Noelle is moving out this week.
So there is never a dull moment most of the time. We have a full house but with the Pa in-laws we have 5 more people in the house.
So far it has been really nice getting to know Candy’s family. My husband Richard and son William went on a Father & Son trip to Ct to visit my husbands family so that freed up some space for the Pa family.
They left about the same time the the Pa family arrived. All in all its working out pretty well.
Tomorrow I’m back to work and Candy is going to take them to the beach, unless it rains.
So far they have been enjoying swimming at my sisters.
We’ve had rain most every day they have been here so far, which is normal summer weather for South Florida.
They got to see their first sun shower yesterday. Something that I think is only seen in South Florida.
A sun shower is when its raining but the sun is shining. They had never seen one before. I saw tonight on the news that there’s a tropical storm heading our way so they will probably get to see a lot more rain while they are here.
As I stated above Noelle is moving out and so some of this past weekend I have been helping her to move.
Yesterday she went to buy a new bed frame along with her friend Katie who she is moving with. T
hey needed a way to move the bed so I went with the truck to pick it up at the store and bring it to the new house.
Today after church we went to City furniture to get her a memory foam mattress, then she took me out to lunch. So I have been trying to balance spending time with the Pa family and helping Noelle.
It’s always nice to have company however it’s nice to have things get back to normal again.
I will be happy to have Richard back home again. I miss him. I keep feeling like he’s going to walk in the door any minute, then I remember he’s in Ct.
Except for weekend Men’s retreats with our church, this is the first time he has taken a trip for a week without me in our 29 years of marriage. I’ve taken trips without him, I went to India for 6 weeks in 2002 for work, and last year I went to TN for 2 weeks to visit a friend.
Spending time with family and friends is always a special time.
So I’m happy that the Pa family was able to visit with us. It helps to build relationships and memories.
So many people have family all over the country, I know I do. I’m always happy to have company and always happy to visit family whenever possible.
Life is short and the most important thing in life is your family.
We should cherish the times we get to be together.
