How To Lock Down Your Facebook Friends List For Privacy

Something I think every Facebook user should do. Lock down your Facebook friends list for privacy. I see alot of people who’s accounts or pages are being cloned. So much so it’s like every other day I see this happening. There is a way to lock down your Facebook friends list to help prevent this from happening to you.

If, like me, you are getting friend requests from people you’re already friends with. Without question we habitually just add them. Instead you should message your friend and ask them. You’ll find like I did that they did not send it, and are usually unaware that they’ve been virtually cloned, at least their account has been.

Here’s what they do, they clone your profile usually taking your photos, then send a request to all your friends. It just perpetuates the problem. Your friends are unaware and accept the request. I watched one day, a cloned account add several friends. People think maybe they had phone or login issue, and had to create a new profile. It’s important to be trusting, yet verify it’s really your friend. You could ask a question only you and your friend would know the answer to.

Better yet, you can lock down your facebook friends list for privacy. Go to your settings and change who can see your Facebook friends list. It’s best to set it for “only me” meaning nobody but you can see who your friends are. This doesn’t prevent them from cloning, but if it they can’t see your friends list it’s like meeting a brick wall for them. So for safety and security, and importantly privacy you should lock down your facebook friends list.

Honestly who’s business is it anyhow. I have a variety of friends, family, and business associates. This helps keep things separated, and prevents your friends from being nagged by requests from clones. To get the exact steps how to do this watch the video above. Be safe out there!
