It’s Always Something

Do you ever feel like it’s always something? There’s always something that distracts you from your goals? There’s always something that comes up taking your money from you, like the holidays. Something pulling for your time, like your business. Or something breaks, and your vehicle stalls. Doesn’t it seem like it’s always something?

I’m going to tell you a little story about what happened to me. It’s kind of crazy because I wasn’t expecting this to happen. Night before last I’m getting ready for bed. It’s late, I’m tired, and I crawl into bed. All of the sudden I feel like theres sand in my bed. I get up and I look at it and it looks like dark sand all over the sheets. I’m thinking “oh my goodness, what is this”? So I brush it off, brush brush brush. And I crawl back into bed and go to sleep.

Then last night, the same thing happened. I went to get into bed and there’s this blackish brown sand all over my bed. So I get up and turn the lights on. I grab an envelope and start scooping the gritty stuff into it. I take it into the bathroom light for a better look. And oh my gosh, it looks like termite droppings. “How in the heck did they get in my bed”?

I changed my bedding and went to sleep. I didn’t find anything more in my bedding when I woke. There was nothing else on my bed again. I show the envelope to my son. He has a camera on a selfie stick. He takes it outside and puts it up into the vents that go into my room, up above my bed, and takes pictures. Theres all kinds of this stuff I found in my bed, up there in the vents.

I look at the ceiling and sure enough theres a little crack where this stuff is falling through and onto my bed. I had to call an exterminator to take care of the problem in the vents. I’ll likely have to tent my house due to termites. My point is, we can have great intentions, and it’s always something that will try to grab you away from your focus. We can’t always control everything that comes at us. But we can investigate and resolve quickly to get right back on track. It’s always something.
