I discovered last night that some people using FB were able to live stream in a landscape view rather than the vertical view that leaves the two bars on the sides of the video. This kind of perplexed me. So I gave it a try myself. From my device, when I turned my phone sideways for recording, it displayed me sideways as the final result. This wasn’t so for a business associate of mine. Different devices work differently with Facebook Live technology. Also, when Facebook updates their application for mobile users it’s not always one roll out. A certain number of users get the initial updates, and then they are gradually rolled out to other active users over a short period of time. Sometimes this will be device specific with Iphone users getting first notifications of updates available.
Facebook Live Tips and Tricks Landscape Recording
An easy way to test and see if you can record in landscape view is to change your privacy settings in your stream to “Me Only”. Record, and then review the video to see if it gave the proper results. This way you’re not interrupting others, and showing up sideways unbeknownst to you. That’s just a quick tip I ran into while figuring it out for myself. I don’t care for the black panels beside my videos, or the zoomed in blurred panels Facebook adds to the streams. I just have to be patient and wait for the roll out of the updates specific to my device.
And since I have your attention I wanted to invite you to check out the rest of my prior video streams I’ve done as part of my personal 30 day challenge. You can see my streams by clicking here.
