Examine Your Self Talk
I’ve been doing a 30 day Facebook Live stream challenge. I’m on day 25 and at this point the goal is to just keep going. I’m very proud of myself and wanted to share my achievement with you, as well as some of the trainings and tools I’ve used to get this far in my business. One of the ways I’ve found to easily provide quality topics is by discussing things I’ve found while reading. Let’s dig into today’s topic, “examine your self talk“.
I’ve been reading a book named “The 24-Hour Turnaround: Discovering the Power to Change” written by Neil Eskelin and Jim Hartness. In it they discuss what self talk is. Self talk, it’s the things we say to ourselves, usually in response to an action or an error, a feeling, thought, or a sense. It’s the inner voice that runs over and over in our brains. We might question ourselves “Oh man why did I do that”, or “I’m so stupid”. We say these things to ourselves that are so negative that it keeps us from going forward. It can effect our business and personal relationships.
We have every opportunity to tell ourselves positive self-talk, yet most of us walk around and talk negatively about ourselves. In the book it says: peoples behavior with almost exception is determined by perception. What do they think about? What do they talk about? Research indicates that most of the average persons talk about self is negative. Since everything produces after it’s kind, you don’t have to be a prophet to predict the future for these people.
What is basically be said is that what you produce you talk about to yourself. So if you’re talking negatively about yourself, you’re going to produce negative results in your life. And it’ll show up in whatever you’re trying to accomplish. It’s important to examine your self talk, and adjust it accordingly. Guaranteed to produce better results.
Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you got some value.
