How to create an effective blog

Do you blog? Do you know what elements to include in your blog to make it an effective blog?

I recently went to an event where Neil Patel was the speaker. The information presented about how to blog was so valuable.

I will be discussing the Elements you should include to make your blog an effective blog.

The Elements of a blog

Headlines

• Keyword should be in the first sentence
• Numbers and negative words in headlines increase click through rates
• Keep headlines under 65 characters
• Make sure your headline match the content
• Odd numbers preform better than even numbers (7 to 101 is recommended)
• You should aim for 6 word headlines
• Avoid words with multiple meanings
• Include power words and interesting adjectives (For example: Fun, Effective)

Introduction

• Start introduction with a question
• Be controversial

Body

• Always write in conversational tone, use You and I
• Create valuable content
• Create content that teaches
• Has to be detailed
• Bullet Main Points in Body
• Use infographics if possible
  • Keep them visual
  • limit word count
  • make them easy to understand
  • have 5 to 6 main points
  • make sure points flow together
  • use simple colors
  • put your URL at the bottom
• Add links to referenced content in your post
• Use statistics if possible
• Do not use cursive font
• Break up your content with pictures
• Your blog should be over 2000 words

Conclusion

• Summarize what your post was about
• Ask questions at the end of your post.
• Italicize your question

Respond to Comments (in a nice way)

You should also know that updating old blog posts will help with the search. You can also change your headlines to update them but don’t change the URL .

Once you have published you blog, you should be sure to share it on as many social media sites as possible and email your list with your blog. The more eyes you get to your blog the more successful you will be.

Blogs can be translated into different languages and the search engines will not count it as duplicate content. This is a plus, you can get more exposure by posting in a couple different languages.

In summary, you can be very effective blogging by using the Elements that I listed as a guide when you are blogging.
