Casting Crowns – If We Are The Body
Have you ever heard the song If We are the Body by Casting Crowns?
I was listening to music yesterday on Pandora Radio, which I love by the way.
The song If We Are The Body by Casting Crowns came on.
I have listened to that song many times before but for some reason a line in the song jumped out at me that I hadn’t really heard before.
Well maybe I heard it, but I didn’t hear it.
The song says “Jesus paid much to high a price for us to pick and choose who should come.”
And that got me thinking, WOW!
How many of us don’t share the Gospel with people because we judge them?
How many times have I not shared the Gospel with someone because I judged them?
We look at them and maybe we don’t want them to be in heaven with us.
Maybe we say that person is annoying or that person isn’t nice or maybe we think that person is better than us or will reject us if we share the Gospel with them.
Maybe we’re just afraid that people will think we are weird or brainwashed or something.
Jesus died for everyone, not for just the ones we pick and choose to share the Gospel with.
Everyone!
Even the homeless man hanging out on the street corner, or that annoying neighbor, or that guy that just cut you off and almost made you wreck your car.
The truth of the matter is that Jesus died for you and for me and for every other person who has ever lived or will ever live.
We don’t have the right to pick and choose.
We are all sinners in need of redemption.
No person is any more worthy than any one else.
The truth is none of us deserve the grace that God has provided for us through His Son.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Who am I to pick and choose who should hear the good news?
Salvation is a free gift, it is free to everyone who believes and accepts it.
Listen to the song, really listen…
Maybe it will get you thinking too.

Deirdre, I really enjoyed reading your blog post today. I am not a religious person but I do believe in Jesus and your post touched my soul. Thank you for sharing such powerful post.
Wow Deirdre this was absolutely God speaking to me through you 😉 Its so crazy every blog I read today all had a message that I felt like was intended for me. No, I know, I’m not saying the world revolves around me by any means, but God was speaking today. This blog really hit me thank you so much!
Amazing. Glad you shined the light. I have often wondered why “religious people” condemn so many who do not believe and act “their way” This fact is true across all religions, but most certainly Christians. “Who am I to judge” Thanks for sharing this message today.
Let all those who believe enter through these doors.
That should be the message at the top of every church door.
Thanks Stephanie, I appreciate your comments. It’s not our place to judge, it’s our place to show the love of Christ. I cringe when I see people thinking they are better than someone else. That would be awesome to see that message on churches. We need to learn to have compassion for others not judge them. Showing love has such a bigger impact than judging. Thanks so much for commenting.
Profound..this really touched my spirit this morning Deirdre..I had never heard this simple message before..I did take the time to listen to the song..and I will remember this and try to take on a more “active” role with the gifts I’ve been given! Thank you for stepping out!
Thanks Gail. I’m glad it touched you. I hope it will touch others too. Glad you listened to the song. It’s one of my favorites.
