Breaking Free From Fear!

I know that fear can be very paralyzing. I also know that fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. There’s a lot of things we can chose to do in life. Whether it’s a challenge, an event, opportunity, or just trying something new you have to practice breaking free from fear.

I went zip-lining once. I was asked if I would go, I said “oh sure, I’ll do it.” And then after I said yes, I was panicked. “Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m going to go zip-lining.” I’m kind of afraid of heights I think, things fall down you know. So I went zip-lining. The thing of it, it was totally, totally out of my comfort zone. I was petrified, you know truly petrified to go zip-lining. And I actually did it! I won’t say that I’d do it again, but I did it. I truly broke free my fears, and did it anyway. When you have a fear of doing something it’s not even real, it’s in your head. That type of fear is really just in your head. Somethings, if you just face them and do it, you’ll find it wasn’t that bad at all.

I can say the same about doing videos. I was petrified to do videos. I was afraid to get onto a live stream. I would be stuttering, I didn’t know what to do, or what to say. I think Facebook Live is a lot easier than doing still videos myself. I’m too nervous, or I don’t know what. All I need to know is I’m just talking to my friends. This is how I feel when doing videos. It wasn’t until I started doing FBLive’s that I faced that fear and consistently started doing videos. Now I actually enjoy doing them, coming together and talking with my friends. Coming up with topics is sometimes a challenge. But fear, it’s all in your head. It’s like feel the fear, but do it anyway. Once you push past the fear you’ll realize it was all in your head. It wasn’t so bad, and you can do it.

So zip-lining and doing video isn’t so bad. Whatever the fear is just try mentally breaking free from fear. When you do this you’re going to feel good about yourself, confident even. You’re going to feel capable, and it’ll be a huge boost to your self esteem. If you face your fears you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Today also marks day 4 of my video challenge, practicing exactly what I encourage others to do.
