Answered Prayers and a Happy Friday
I’m walking in God’s graces today. It’s Friday and I’m happy to be back home after a brief hotel stay. God is amazing and shows up in all areas of my life and in some unexpected places. I’d like to tell you about a couple of recently answered prayers.
Answered Prayers God Shows Up
We were away from home the past couple of days. Our house was tented to get rid of a termite problem. We packed up the whole family and made it fun rather than inconvenient. Getting away from home can be enjoyable but that feeling of returning is irreplaceable. We’ve been in our home for decades. We’re a family that prays together. As life goes there’s always something happening. Imagine my surprise to find I’d lost the diamond earrings my husband bought me. He doesn’t often buy me expensive jewelry so they hold true sentimental value to me. I couldn’t remember where I’d left them. With no recollection if I had them before we went to the hotel, or when I’d misplaced them. Of course I put up a few prayers asking for assistance in finding them.
We get home and my daughter in law is going to grab us all dinner. It was then she realized she’s missing her wallet. She had credit cards, checkbook, 
and identification in her wallet. We searched high and low for it with no luck. We took a few moments to pray. Sometimes it’s just that moment of taking a deep breath and gathering ourselves that helps us become more focused. No sooner do we get through that initial shock of loss and I find my earrings. You know, right where I left them on the bathroom counter. And that’s life! We clear one thing away and another pops up.
Answered Prayers He’s Listening Are You
The truth is God doesn’t want us struggling, or upset. Sure there is a purpose to all that we experience here, and upset is unavoidable. What is our choice is how we react to it. I’ve just got into the habit of when you start feeling it, pray about it. Pray about everything, every mishap, and every joy. God shows up in answered prayers every day. We just have to pay attention to how he is communicating with us.
My daughter in law found her wallet. It was just crazy. Her wallet was shoved into a backpack pocket. Somewhere that had no logic to how it even got there. Yet there it was! So getting home and settled in was a little trying but with some answered prayers the road doesn’t have to be so rocky.
