7 Ways To Generate Sales With Your Blog
At a recent team meeting we discussed 7 ways to generate sales with your blog. I decided tonight, my 12th day into my 30 day FBLive challenge, to share these valuable tips with you. Your blog content may be more useful than you realize. I know my perspective of having a blog has changed over the past couple of years of marketing.
1) Cover Topics Nobody Else Is Talking About
You’re unique and your topics should be unique to you or your business. Choose topics nobody else is talking about, or give a different perspective of a trending topic. Choose unique things over saturated topics.
2) Post Regularly and Consistently
Posting, or blogging regularly sends information to Google and let’s them know you site is active, they favor active sites in the search results. Blogging daily assures that Google knows you exist, and they are more likely to present your content to those searching with relative terms.
3) Put A Call To Action In Every Post
Putting a call to action in your post seems like you’re telling people what to do, and you are. Sometimes people need the guidance, or direction if you haven’t made the next step crystal clear for them. Having a link to purchase, or opt in for notifications is a smart step all bloggers use.
4) Ask For The Engagement or Feedback
This goes with putting a call to action into your posts. It’s asking for what you want. Do you want people to comment? Ask them a direct question and tell them to comment. You might find you have readers you didn’t know existed because you haven’t asked for their feedback. Engage your readers and they’ll return more frequently.
5) Product and Service Reviews
If you own an online business you likely have products or services you use to carry out your work. You can post reviews on these items and offer them for sale as an affiliate. That new washer your neighbor bought because you told her how much you liked yours, you could’ve earned money there. Blogging is very similar to word of mouth reviews.
6) Monetize Your Sidebar Widgets
Most blog platforms have “widgets” in the right or left sidebar. These are specifically there to draw attention to other items besides your main content. Usually other products and services you’re affiliate with. Use these spots to advertise you things.
7) Backlink To Your Relative Posts
Internal links to your other posts that are relative to your current topic can help determine how you rank in the search engines. It’s a good idea to also do this to repurpose “older” information.
