6 Steps to Make Your Goals a Reality
Have you taken steps toward your goals?
Goals are an important step in your journey toward success.
Knowing something is not enough you have to apply it.
6 Steps to Make Your Goals a Reality
1. Identify what you want.
- Clarity is everything!
- Be specific
2. Determine what you are willing to do to make it happen
- whatever it takes
- grow personally
- market daily – paid and free)
- learn how
- listen to takes, read books
- make videos
- be consistent
- be positive
- get education
3. Set a timeline (the date you want it to happen by)
4. Milestones (You deserve a reward along the way) Create 4 points.
Example:
- 25% done
- 50% done
- 75% done
- 100% done
5. Rewards
- How will you reward yourself for reaching each milestone? Make it fun.
- Go out to dinner
- celebrate with friends
6. Keep your goal in front of you.
- re-organize your goals
- make them easily accessible
- goal cards in multiple places
- pictures and objects
- create a dream book
- put on the bathroom mirror
4 reasons that will stop you from attaining their goal:
- You don’t think you can do it. You don’t know how.
- You think what’s the point. You’re too far away from it.
- Limiting beliefs. Beliefs that tell you why it’s not possible.
- Lack of self esteem. You tie your self esteem to your goals.
Just because you failed to achieve a particular goal in the past doesn’t mean you are a failure.
Following the SMART Goals is another way to make your goals a reality. I have provided an infographic for your reference.
No matter what your goals are you will need to make a plan and make a decision that you will do whatever it takes to reach your goals.
It is OK to change the direction or the methods you use to attain your goals, but don’t change your goal.

Great information on goal setting, Deirdre. Love the infographic as well. Being a Business & Life coach, I teach my students about the S.M.A.R.T goals method and they seem to grasp the concept pretty well. I love that you also include a reward for a milestone achieved! So many forget that part and I think it’s such an important piece to the whole process. Good stuff!
Thank you Robin! i appreciate your comments. Glad you found value. I love the SMART infographic too. I thought it was a good addition to my post. Rewarding yourself for reaching your goal milestones is really important. It helps keep us motivated to keep going.
