Do you care what other people think? Seriously do you?
Do you live your life based on the opinions of others…
Or do you live you life based on what you want?
Do you even know what you want?
So many of us worry all the time about what others will think of us instead of doing what we want…
Instead of going after our dreams!
We need to stop worrying about what others think.
We need to first figure out what we really want, then go after it no matter what anyone thinks.
Do you care what other people think of you – Family
Sometimes members of your family are the ones who keep you from going after what you want.
They tell you to get your head out of the clouds…
They tell you that you need to go to college so you can get a real job…
But is that what you really want?
Is that what is going to get you your dreams?
Family members have seemingly good intentions…
But they are a lot of the time, the ones that keep us from doing what we truly want to do. We are worried about what they think and we don’t want to disappoint them.
Do you care what other people think of you – Friends
Friends are great…
I love my friends…
But if your friends don’t encourage you to go after your dreams you don’t need those friends in your life…
You can’t choose your family but you can choose your friends.
If your friends aren’t supportive then you need to make some new ones.
It important to get around people who have the same goals and dreams that you do.
It’s OK to cut the negative people out of your life…
It is after all your life…
You are the one that has to live with your decisions.
If you have a DREAM then don’t let negative friends keep you from going after your dream.
It doesn’t matter what other people think of you…
The only thing that matters is what you think of yourself!

I think this is a very powerful video. It gives you something to think about.

Some things that I got from this video are:
“You are what you love and not what loves you.”
“When we were kids we did what we loved, we created and played all day. We didn’t care what others thought of us.”
“We’ve been conditioned and moved to a place of what loves us. Almost every decision we make is based on what others think of us.”
The greatest people in society work on themselves.
“Let go of the results and the results will show up.”

Initially we think we care but really we know that what others say shouldn’t affect what we want to achieve in life. I love the video Deirdre and this post is a good reminder to believe in who we are. Thanks for sharing your positive insight!

Great post Deirdre! Its true that too many people get caught up worrying about what others think and then end up following the wrong people and not doing what they want to do! I used to be vulnerable to this but not anymore.

If you are you and are true to yourself, you wouldn’t really care who thinks what. People that I surround myself with are successful, open minded and are true to them self.

Some great points here. We own our own lives and no one can really see the World as we do, therefore other people’s opinions of us are often clouded.
I think anyone who attempts anything from the normal run of the mill stuff is going to come in for criticism. Sometimes this can be from people very close to use. We can’t afford to be swayed by other people’s opinions. Great post..

Awesome post Deiredre. A lot of people get hung up on this. I always tell them if they don’t sleep with you or pay your bills. Who gives a shit what they think. Go and enjoy life 🙂
